How we measured

These figures cover single-family homes only.

Each comparison uses the same account in both years.

The 2026 value is the market value on each appraisal district's 2026 notice of appraised value. The 2025 value is the final 2025 market value.

Harris and Fort Bend use the accounts that each district's roll codes as single-family homes. Collin uses state category A (single-family residential). Denton keeps state class A1 (single-family) accounts with a building value above zero. Both values must be above zero. The median is the median of each home's percent change.

These are our own counts from the values as loaded on the date shown. They can differ from figures a district or the news publishes.

A change can include new construction or remodeling. Values after protests can differ.

The source is the county appraisal district.
