What you will see
- Your 2026 total tax, and how much it changed when the 2025 bill is on file.
- Each taxing unit on your bill, such as the county, school district, city and MUD, with its rate and amount.
- The exemptions on file. If none is on file, a note on the homestead exemption.
- A one-page summary you can save or print.
Where a taxing unit has not adopted its 2026 rate yet, we use its latest earlier rate and mark the amount as an estimate.
Key dates
- The Fort Bend County Tax Office mails 2026 tax bills starting in October.
- Taxes are due by January 31, 2027. When that day is a weekend or holiday, the next business day counts. Taxes unpaid after that become delinquent and add penalty and interest (Texas Tax Code §31.02, §1.06, §33.01).
- Your 2027 appraisal notice comes in spring. The protest deadline is May 17, 2027, or 30 days after the notice is delivered if that is later (Texas Tax Code §41.44).
Grounda shows public appraisal district records. Your official bill is the statement from the county tax office. Pay at the Fort Bend County Tax Office
Next step: your 2027 value
Your tax is your taxable value times the rates. Each taxing unit sets its own rate, but you can protest your value every year.
From your bill you can ask us to email you when 2027 values are out, or authorize Grounda to protest for you.
You pay 20% of the tax we save, nothing if we do not lower it.
